Finding Buried Treasure on Cape Cod

Looking for buried treasure, gems, jewels, unique artifacts and designer clothing? Explore the many thrift shops on Cape Cod (there are almost 50 of them!).

One of our favorite pastimes – especially on a rainy Cape Cod day — is to poke around the myriad of thrift shops that traverse our wonderful peninsula, in hopes of finding that essential “must-have” at a bargain price.  Every Cape town has at least one, or several, thrift shops that offer great finds and great prices. Some of our recent finds include a set of Fred Flintstone and Howdy Doody juice glasses that adorn our breakfast tables.

A funky old lamp that illuminates our new butler’s pantry, a unique demi-lune table we placed in our Magnolia Room, and a bunch of unique teapots and parfait glasses that make our breakfast service a fiesta! Even the picture of “St. Chili,” the hot pepper goddess, came from a thrift shop.

One of the great things about touring the thrift shops on Cape Cod is that you never know what you are going to find – or what you can’t get along without! An even better thing is that all of the thrift shops are affiliated with charity-based organizations so, not only are you going to get great deals, you’re funding organizations that do amazing work.  A couple of our favorite shops include:
