Some of the Cape’s best seafood restaurants are
right in our neighborhood!

Honeysuckle Hill Inn’s two favorite seafood restaurants are…

Mattakeese Wharf

Mattakeese Wharf Deck Dining

This quintessential waterside restaurant screams Cape Cod! Located on Barnstable Harbor, about 10 minutes from our inn, Mattakeese has been serving spectacular seafood for 51 years. The reason? Terrific food, harbor-side dining, and spectacular sunsets! The sunsets are so breathtaking that we’ve seen diners (ourselves included) stop eating in awe of the beauty of the show.

Shorts and flip-flops are the uniform of choice at Mattakeese – both for diners and waitstaff, alike. A lively bar scene, with good harbor views, makes for a congenial happy hour. Their fried calamari with banana peppers, crispy Pan-fried sole, and New England Cioppino are killer dishes. And, their organic cucumber vodka martini is a best-in-show libation. Appetizers run from $9-$15, entrees from $18-$36.

Reservations are highly recommended. When making your reservation, make sure to request a table on the closed-in porch for the best harbor views. All in all, a truly Cape Cod dining experience.

The Dolphin Restaurant
Honeysuckle Hill Inn West Barnstable MA

Located in the center of Barnstable Village, also about 10 minutes from our inn, this 70-year-old establishment was first started by the current owner’s grandparents. Three generations of serving culinary excellence has turned this restaurant into a true Barnstable landmark. A warm, cozy, and friendly atmosphere, along with some of the finest seafood on this peninsula, guarantees a dining experience you will remember for a long time.

Dress is casual, the waitstaff is friendly, the bar scene is fun and lively, portions are large, and the food is simply terrific. The Dolphin has become a “locals favorite” and is packed even on a Wednesday night in February.  We have guests who stay with us for a week each year and eat exclusively at The Dolphin every night – it’s that good!  Their sole a la Dolphin, fried native scallops or whole belly clams, and grilled swordfish topped with corn salsa are sure to delight. Appetizers run from $5-$16, entrees from $22-$28.

You won’t be disappointed, nor go home hungry. Reservations highly recommended.
